Announcement of the fire drill at the Faculty of Law of Charles University

Dear Colleagues,

As in previous years, the Faculty of Law will again conduct a fire drill including a full evacuation of the building this calendar year.

Since the date is approaching, we can already inform you that the drill will take place sometime in November.

The exact date will not be announced in advance in order to preserve the realism of the exercise.

This activity is essential to verify the preparedness of all participants for emergency situations and to ensure your safety and the safety of others.

During the drill, the fire detectors, sirens, and the Crisis Information and Notification System (KISS) will be activated.

Please remain calm throughout the evacuation and follow the instructions of the fire wardens (yellow reflective vests) and emergency service personnel.

If you require psychological assistance during the drill, crisis intervention staff (wearing yellow vests marked KRIZOVÝ INTERVENT) will be available in room no. 38.

Do not hesitate to contact them if needed.

Important Information

  • The fire drill is a simulation only — there is no real danger.
  • Your participation is essential for successfully testing the faculty’s safety systems.
  • Please review the location of emergency exits and evacuation routes in advance.
  • Once the alarm is activated, take your personal belongings and leave the building immediately.
  • Proceed to the assembly point on Dvořák Embankment (see attached map) and wait there until the drill is officially concluded.
  • The expected duration of the exercise is approximately 30 minutes.

Your cooperation and calm conduct are crucial for the successful completion of the drill.

The Security Department of the Rectorate of Charles University will monitor the entire process and subsequently evaluate the results, based on which further measures may be implemented.
